It's just a little past noon, and the table has been set for lunch. The phone is ringing so Harriet answers. It's mother, who can't remember why she's called. Harriet tells her that she's had lunch ready for the past twenty minutes, but the boys haven't gotten home yet. They were late yesterday too, so her mother intuition is telling her that they're up to no good!
