Three men from the Board of Directors are waiting for the president of the company, J.L. to arrive and disclose the details of a company he has bought. The Directors are a little worried, as he has refinanced the existing company to do so, and they have absolutely no idea what he could have bought. J.L. has bought the entire phone company! Everyone is shocked, and they can't understand why he would. As it turns out, a woman named Miss Birdie Johnson was the motivation behind it all.
