Captain Frank Kennelly is called to an incident where a Joe Packet has assaulted a sixteen-year-old girl seemingly trying to kill her. Packet has known the girl for six months and kept calling to their apartment mostly worse the wear on account of whiskey. He said he wanted to marry her but she didn’t want anything to do with him and in a drunken stupor he said he’d kill her and threw her in to the cellar.
