It's the lunch hour at the California aircraft plant where Chester A. Riley is a riveter. Riley usually lunches with his friend, co-worker and rival, Jim Gillis. Both men are proud of their respective sons, and brag to one another frequently. Today however, it becomes apparent that Jim doesn't think much of Riley's son, Junior. In order to prove him wrong, Riley urges Junior to get a part in the school play...
