Richard Diamond, private detective is called upon to help Sergeant Lieutenant Walter Levinson with a case. The police had a tip that a guy named Wells had a stash of stolen jewelry. Now the police have it as when the robbery boys got over to the guys house they found him dead, shot through the head. They jewelry was found underneath the sink and the wife is now saying that the jewelry is hers but they believe her. Levinson knows they are stolen but they can't prove it and if Richard Diamond can't help them solve this thing fast by pressing on the widow in a way the police can't they will have to hand the diamonds back.
