It's Christmas in 1945, in a ruined house in conquered Berlin, Germany. Five soldiers are around a table beginning their Christmas dinner. Staff sergeant John Plantner was carving... The men are all reminiscing about their usual Christmas dinner's back home, and joking that they're going to go to one of the soldier's homes next year, when a lieutenant arrives with lots of Christmas goodies - including cranberry sauce, and several bottles of wine!
