This is the story of a jewel thief from New York named Pepe Le Moko who has chosen the notorious hideout of the Casbah of Algiers to avoid being hunted and arrested by the police and other law enforcement agents. So long as he stays in the Casbah, then he should stay out of trouble. Unfortunately he didn't bargain on also finding the beautiful Gabrielle, and American tourist.
