The change of hosting went smoothly

First of all can I apologize to anyone who may have had trouble logging in over the past few days or have had difficulty sending e-mails. There is a very good reason. Let me explain.

For the past four years the member's area has been hosted on a completely different server to the pages you see before entering the members area. When you went to www.rusc.com you were on one server and when you entered your username and password to get into the member's area you were taken to another.

The member's area has always been on the best server of the two as it is a completely dedicated high speed server that is only used by myself, i.e. it is not shared with any other web sites.

I kept them separate just in case anything ever went wrong, but last week the hosting company where the entrance pages were held ceased trading without any notice at all. This left me in rather a pickle and so I had to quickly relocate not only the entrance pages, but also all of the e-mail stuff. It was quite a job.

I don't want to bore you with technical details so to cut a long story short it takes several days for the new server information to propagate throughout the Internet, which is why some people may have had difficulty connecting. If your ISP had not updated their records it would mean you'd be sent to the old server and not the new one and any mail you sent would do likewise.

The good news is that the move has now gone through completely and everything is now on the one dedicated server.

If you've sent an e-mail recently and have not had a reply then the chances are your messages has been lost in the old system. If you resend it or let me know what it was about I will deal with it as a priority.
