The Creeper

The Creeper

With Halloween in mind, this week I listened to the famous thriller 'The Creeper' by Joseph Ruscoll.

It was a Murder at Midnight broadcast from 1946 - a good ten years before Alfred Hitchcock's television adaptation.

The story follows Georgia Davis, who was a star of the stage before she married Steve Grant. Now she's a housewife in the Washington Heights neighborhood, which is being terrorized by a stranger known only as 'The Creeper'...

Georgia's getting paranoid, and after running an errand, has become convinced that she is to be the serial killer's next victim. The first thing she wants to do to feel safe, is arrange for a new lock for their apartment door, as their own has broken.

Will the locksmith make it there in time, or will the Creeper have already moved in on his next victim?

The Creeper is definitely a classic in terror and suspense, I was on the edge of my seat throughout!
