Recommendation - Suspense

Recommendation - Suspense

The best recommendations are always going to include an episode of Suspense so I'm sure you'll be thrilled with this one.

In fact it's a two for one. The episode is called Too Little To Live On and was first broadcast on February 7th, 1946 starring George Murphy and Nancy Coleman.

The rebroadcast of this story was on December 26th, 1947 starring comedy duo Ozzie and Harriet Nelson. However, this is not some light hearted black comedy, it is a classic Suspense show that is superbly well acted and shows what a huge talent Ozzie and Harriet really were.

In fact, there isn't a single bit of humor in this tale of frustration, manipulation, murder and premature death.

The recommendation of both episodes comes from friend of RUSC, Chet who says this about the show:

"Compare this to the "rebroadcast" with the re-casted version of December 1947 with Ozzie and Harriet. Casting these two against type makes the story even more horrifying to any listener who remembers any of the Ozzie and Harriet shows. Not counting their years with Red Skelton. It's not better, nor worse - each version evokes a different creepiness. Try each they're each a five star but a different experience."

Be sure to post your comments under the show when you've listened.

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
