Maybe it is time to treat yourself to a portable MP3 player

Who would have thought ten years ago that we would be able to walk around with several hundred hours of old time radio shows or music in our pocket and listen whenever we like. It sounds like something from X Minus One, doesn't it?

I have been a big fan of portable MP3 players ever since they first came out. I think they are one of the best inventions of the past decade and, without doubt, I have had more pleasure from my portable MP3 player than any other portable audio player I have ever had in the past.

I'm often asked which portable MP3 player I would recommend for listening to old time radio shows on. There are so many to choose from it is hard to say which one is best as each person has different needs. Personally, I prefer the ones with a lot of storage on. I have one that has 6 gig of storage built-in, but there are now units available with 20 gig storage capacity. That is enough to store hundreds and hundreds of old time radio shows and still have enough room for your favorite music.

Alternatively, you may prefer to go for one of the increasingly compact units. They usually do not store anywhere near as much, but they are so small you will hardly know you have it with you. They are ideal if you just want to take a handful of shows with you to the gym or on your daily commute.
