Income Tax Time
If you're like me, you probably have a few late nights on the approach to April 15th, burning the midnight oil, readying your income tax return.
There's always a good excuse for putting it off, isn't there.
Well this year we have been given an excuse to put it off, at least until the 17th of May as the tax deadline has been extended.
Listening to the array of shows featuring the dreaded income tax return, from days gone by, makes you realize you're not alone in your procrastination. It's no wonder we don't want to do it, like
Ozzie Nelson says,
"It calls for a complete mastery of arithmetic, trigonometry, surveying, semantics, foreign languages including double talk and jabberwocky, not to mention mind reading and above all the control of temper!"
And if you find you're having problems, well, you are not on your own, Andy Brown from Amos and Andy is also having Tax Return Problems as is Luigi Basco in Life With Luigi.
But of course it's not all bad, sometimes there's the welcome surprise of a tax refund as discovered by The Bickersons and Fibber McGee and Molly, have a listen.
As well as all the fun shows highlighted above I've added an episode of A Date With Judy in which, to Judy's father's dismay Mr. Gibbons has called off a big deal and all because Mr. Gibbons' son Willy got a peek at Judy's income tax return thinking it was her father's!
I have to confess I'm just like the characters in some of these rib-tickling comedies, having already used every excuse I can, to put the darn thing off until the last minute.
Never mind, it'll get done in the end but meantime here's another reason for you to put off filing your own tax return, a complete list of all the shows I picked out for you to download or listen to online... I hope you laugh as much as I did!
