The 4th July, 1776 was a prominent day in American history, as the 13 colonies successfully claimed their independence from the British Empire.

In 1870 the day became an unpaid holiday for federal employees, and in 1938 this changed to be a paid holiday.

Paid or unpaid, celebrations have evolved over the years and Independence Day is now considered to be our most beloved national holiday in the United States, when we all come together to celebrate the birth of our nation.

Patriotism played an important role during the golden age of radio, and sitcoms were more popular than ever, bringing light humor to the country during wartime.

You can hear this in many shows, but I have selected a few for you to vote on. Which 4th July show is your favorite?
