An old show for young listeners

One genre of old time radio shows that people often overlook is juvenile. Obviously, once you get over the age of twelve the stories might not have the appeal they once did, but don't forget any sons and daughters, grand children or neices and nephews you may have.

I know from the e-mails I receive that many members are introducing the youngsters in their families to the wonderful world of old time radio. For anyone who has not let the youngsters in their family listen to some of these classic shows you'll be stunned at the effect.

You'd think that in this age of Playstations, widescreen TVs and DVD movies youngsters would find old time radio shows a very poor form of entertainment, but in my experience the exact opposite is true. For any child with a good imagination these shows can open up a whole new world of entertainment for them.

One show for young children that might not be as famous as many others, but in my opinion is one of the most enjoyable, is Jerry of the Circus. It follows the adventures of a young orphan called Jerry. There are over eighty 15 minutes episodes to enjoy and they are ideal as bed time listening or for long car journeys.

I've put over fifty episodes up already and I'll continue to add them until all one hundred and thirty are on the site. By the time I've finished you'll have enough to do a coast-to-coast trip and listen to Jerry's adventures every minute of the way.

Happy listening my friends
