A New Decade!

A New Decade!

It's that time between Christmas and New Year where you're full of cheese and snacks, leftover turkey, and you can't help but wonder when the next waste truck will be coming to pick up the trash.

Joy and I have been spending time at a very special family reunion, but that has meant more feasting every day, so we will be following much of the world with a diet when the New Year comes!

The reunion has been wonderful, but I've been looking forward to putting my feet up and listening to some good old time radio shows again, back in my comfortable little routine - something I feel I've become more content with as I have settled into my senior years.

How about you? What did you do over the Christmas break?

If you've had some spare time before you fuddled your brain with eggnog, maybe you managed to complete the RUSC Old Time Radio Quiz?

If you've still got lots of clarity, and a brain full of old time radio knowledge, then here's the link to give it a try:-

RUSC Old Time Radio Quiz

For the New Year, you can celebrate it in a very special way with your friends and family, sharing your love of old time radio shows. Whether you're putting on your party hat and raising a toast to good times, or relaxing and unwinding after a busy Christmas, there will be some old time radio gems on the RUSC New Year radio station to match your mood.

We're on to the countdown to the start of a new decade now, and over the years I have listened to lots of shows which reflect that year. This year, I listened to the Arthur Godfrey show from the 1970s, called Recalling 1949 to see how they discussed the end of the 1940s.

Finally, from Joy and I, we couldn’t put it better than Amos and Andy ourselves when they say ...

"... before the year passes we want to again tell you folks how much we really appreciate your friendship and loyalty which you have shown us in the past. We’re going to try and merit your continued friendship during the coming year by giving you the very best shows that we can possibly give. From our hearts we wish you a very Happy New Year."

Happy Holidays!
