'Chrimbo Limbo'

'Chrimbo Limbo'

Well, it's officially 'Chrimbo Limbo' week, when you've indulged in far too much food, nobody knows what day it is, or what to do with themselves, and you can't help but wonder when the next garbage truck is coming to take away all of the trash!

Whilst you're gearing yourself up for the fact it will be 2024 in less than a week, Joy and I have come up with a few things you can do in this weird time between Christmas and New Year.

Happiness is always to be found in the simplest of things and we are fortunate that our love of old time radio has brought us all many hours of entertainment and pleasure throughout the year.

So this year, forget the flashy fireworks and ear-splitting music of the modern New Year's Eve, and instead, curl up with a mug of something warm, dim the lights and head to a bygone era of radio dramas that painted worlds with nothing but words and sound effects.

Someone we can always rely on for a laugh, is Fibber McGee - and the episode Leftover Turkey is as relatable as ever, when - fed up of cold sliced turkey - Fibber decides he's going to prepare a fancy gourmet dinner out of the Christmas leftovers. Hmm let's see... !

Jack Benny also brings us some terrific laughs with the episode Jack Writes Thank-You Notes.

You also have at your fingertips, all of your Old Time Radio favorites to ring in the new year, in our New Year's radio station.

Finally, if you didn't have time to get that special someone a gift, or if you want to gift the best treat to bring in the New Year, you can easily setup a little old time entertainment to start their year full of positivity - with a RUSC gift subscription!

However you spend the next few days, relaxing, eating, or spending precious time with family and friends, Joy and I would like to thank you for all your friendship and support over the past year.

We wish you, your family, your friends, and your neighbors a happy and prosperous New Year!

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
