The Vanilla Murder Case began when Johnny Blake a soda dispenser was found dead in the basement of the store where he worked. Vance and Dick Jackman another soda clerk discovered the body and beside it a syrup pump marked vanilla. Vance finds out that Tony Emrotty a loan shark had threatened Johnny and District Attorney Markham discovers that Johnny Blake’s girlfriend’s father had also threatened Johnny.
