There had bee 22 traffic accidents in the last 24 hours 3 of them fatal. Nine different people ended up in emergency hospital and four of them may not make it. Sergeant Kennedy had been a policeman for 14 years and had never failed to catch a hit and run yet. In this case although the witness hadn’t been too good on the details Lieutenant Kennedy had been was able to identify the victim as Lawrence Danker a small time thief he’d arrested in 1936. Now he needed to find out who had hit him at 3 am in the morning and not bothered to stop. When he discovers the car without licence plates it doesn’t matter, Kennedy knows exactly who’s car it is and is faced with the dilemma of charging his own son a good kid who is training to be a doctor for the manslaughter of a waster.
