The Old Timer is quite a character, and his experience is indispensible to the Rangers. But he is getting on a bit, and Bill and Fred are on the street speculating how long it will be before the Old Timer retires - but they're convinced it will be a few years yet. Mrs Purdy overhears them discussing retirement, and being the gossip that she is, it isn't long before rumors are circulating around the town...
