Marshall Matt Dillon and the Doc enter the bar for a drink and Kitty tells them that the stranger at the end of the bar is working up for an argument. He has a horse outside with a pack full of ammunition. His name is Jim Hawke, he’s with 9 other Texans and they have a large herd of cattle six days drive away. He is reluctant to tell Matt what the ammunition is for, as he doesn’t trust Kansan’s. Matt doesn’t like his attitude and decides that he and Chester will ride south with him to find out what the game is.
