Convicted killer Joe Hanley is being transported to his execution via a heavily guarded railroad boxcar. However, the train is involved in a wreck, and Hanley manages to escape. Seizing the opportunity, he switches identities with a soldier on furlough, taking his uniform and papers. The Green Hornet, ever vigilant, notices inconsistencies in the soldier's behavior and launches an investigation. He soon uncovers Hanley's true identity and sets out to bring him to justice.
