There was great excitement in the small western town of Cleardale, when the stage coach from the east came to a halt in front of the hotel. The stage was full of bullet holes, and there was a horse missing, not to mention the fatally injured driver of the stage. He and Bill had been held up by outlaws, and Bill had tried to follow them with the other horse, whilst the driver continued alone.
