Banyon's Creek was too deep and swift running to ford. This suited Brian Banyon because it isolated him from the ranchers and townsmen to the north. He looked on his neighbors with disdain, and they in turn, looked wistfully at Banyon's side of the creek, comparing the lush fields with their own impoverished range land.
