It was the morning of the 14th. A day that Tom Martin and his wife had dreaded. It was the day that, true to expectations, Gabby Garner came to call, accompanied by the Sheriff. Tom had borrowed money from Garner, and had been unable to pay it back, so they were to foreclose on his ranch. Twenty years of hard work was all that Tom could think about. Even though his wife had tried to explain to him that there would be interest charges, and handling charges, Tom just couldn't understand how the amount to pay back was so high. To his credit, after the deed was signed handing the property ownership to Garner, he agreed to give Tom a few more days to find the money. But where would Tom find it?
