In the year 1800 the dread scourge smallpox swept through villages towns and cities in epidemics. Whole populations ran in panic to escape but there was no escape. Then in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as yet untouched by smallpox a doctor named Benjamin Waterhouse addressed the members of the town council telling them that vaccination is the answer. But they feel that the people will not accept the value of the vaccination through fear and distrust. It takes the belief and taking of the vaccination by the President, Thomas Jefferson to win over the trust of the people.
