Many of the traditional basketball rivalries were settled during the past week and Madison High School where Our Miss Brooks teaches English was no exception. Their big game with Clayton High was scheduled for Friday night and last Wednesday morning while driving her to school Walter Denton the teams manager tried to sell her a ticket but she’s not interested as watching their team lose is an embarrassment. However Walter Denton tells her that the greatest scholastic basketball player in the area is going to be transferring to Madison High from Clayton High. His name is Tex Barton and he’s 6 foot 4 tall and if he plays for them on Friday they will be sure to win!
