Lum & Abner and Grandpa Spears had sold Pine Ridge's oil company's holdings to the South West Oil Company for $3000 in cash, and a royalty of 10 cents per barrel. After the deal was completed, they found that Squires Skimp was the president of the new company and that they had been tricked into selling him their interests.
