Abner, Squire Skimp, Grandpap, Ben Withers and Ulysses are gathered in the Jot' Em Down store for a meeting. All of them have had a call from the mysterious voice. They all feel that the voice is familiar but the only person they know in the village that talks in a whispering voice is Judge Vance. But it can't be him because whispering Judge Vance is dead.
