Red Tollit and Hack Slade are wanted in over half a dozen states for bank robbery and stage hold-up so Marshal Matt Dillon recognizes them from photo’s he has seen when they turn up in Dodge and rob the saloon and take everybody’s money along with the safe and till takings. To prevent the Marshal getting a posse together they take Kitty and threaten to kill her if anyone tries to follow them.
