The sudden discordant tone of the new bell in the Lakeville town hall steeple, has resulted in a surprise visit by John Temple - Hop and Tank's good friend from the FBI. He told them a strange story of a famous carillon in Czechoslovakia. Eight of the bells of this particular carillon were sent to eight different towns in the United States, in appreciation for their contributions of food, clothing and medicine during the war - but then for no apparent reason, each bell suddenly became discordant.
