Scarlet Pimpernel

Scarlet Pimpernel

Broadcast: 19th November 1944
Added: Nov 19 2011
The Scarlet Pimpernel is one of the most dashing figures of legend. He was a man of a hundred disguises who lived an almost continual masquerade. He had one great aim in life, to rescue the persecuted in France from the guillotine of the French revolution. In England only the few members of his own band knew that that great fool that overdressed dandy Sir Percy Blakely was the fabulous Pimpernel. This story starts in England on sir Percy’s wedding day, the day when he claimed the great French beauty Marguerite St Juste as his bride…
