The new Broom party is slowly being whipped in to shape by boss Edwards but it looks as though Squire Skimps opposition party has stolen the March by taking most of the Broom's candidates and by running politically potent Ezra Seaskunk against Abner for mayor. Actually the new Broom party now consists of only boss Lum, ward heeler Cedric Weehunt, Abner for mayor and Dad Crocket for dog catcher.
