The Saint is grumbling about the food in the restaurant he is eating in when a strange case falls into his lap. Mr. Potts, a fellow diner confesses to killing his partner and asks The Saint to prove that he did it. To make things a little more complex it turns out that there isn't actually a corpse to establish that a murder has been committed. Things get even stranger when Carter, the person Potts had confessed to killing, confronts The Saint when he arrives home.
