Lum and Abner are determined to get back the gold mine which rightfully belongs to their foundling baby, and which has apparently fallen into the hands of an aunt of the baby. Squire Skimp has promised to get a lawyer to handle the case for them, and while the old fellows are waiting to hear from Squire on this matter, they're going ahead with plans to run the gold mine before he is old enough to run it for himself...
