It was an exceedingly warm night - a night filled a bright, shining moon; large twinkling stars; and the incessant summery sound of insects. Dan Reid - fourteen year old nephew of the Lone Ranger - tossed restlessly on his blanket. Finally, Dan sat up, clasping his hands with his knees, and stared to the distance where he could hear the sound of a train. To calm him, the Lone Ranger and Tonto began to tell him a story of the first pioneer wagon train, and how they had helped those brave souls to reach their destination and new lives in the west.
