An old flame of Gidy's, the wealthy miss Paula Winthrup has come home after winter vacationing in Florida. Gildy needs to hold on to his heart, though he says he only has a neighborly interest in Paula and has no intention of burning his bridges with his current love interest, school teacher Grace Tuttle.
