In the south west of the 1870s, Dry Gulch was a sleepy little town that had no claim to distinction, save that law and order was uniquely preserved by Sheriff Bill Fanton, a huge and sleepy man. About a mile out of town was a great house, built and then abandoned by a cattle man of an earlier day - but now the house is occupied again...
