Artist Lum is up to his neck in surrealism, love and an art exhibit designed to sell war bonds and to present the combined paintings of Lum and his colleague Mabel Melrose. Meanwhile, Miss Melrose is still residing in the Peabody attic, much to the discomfort of Abner and his wife Elizabeth. As we look in on the little community today, we find the old fellows back in the seed room of the store and library.
