Today Hoppy and his partner California are many miles away from the Bar-20 riding along an old wagon road that winds through the lonely brush country. This is a land of superstition and Indian legends. But as they ride California shows little enthusiasm for Hoppy’s current venture, which is to buy some bulls from a bankrupt ranch north of Skull Valley.
