Gregory Stewart, retired diplomat, was a strong willed and determined man. Not only in his reactions to national affairs, but also in handling his only son, Donald, whose playboy tactics had long found disfavor in his father's eyes. On a certain afternoon, Donald - his face flushed and hands clenched in restrained anger - faced his father in the library of the Stewart home. Donald was furious at his father, and had determined that regardless of what his father said, he intended on not only continuing to see Hazel Darnell - he was going to marry her!
