Linda has been wanting to speak with Carl about several social commitments he has let her down on, so when he invites her for a walk along the beach it's the perfect opportunity. Carl is a businessman, and he is always busy with work, and ironically Carl had also been wanting to talk to Linda about her burning the social candle at both ends. Then as they are walking, they notice the lack of moonlight, but also glance something at the waters edge, a drunken man perhaps? As the moon comes from behind the clouds, they believe it to be an old man writing in the sand, but what is he writing?
