The mysterious tale of a strange society that holds their meetings in the underground vault of a furniture warehouse. The story starts in 1887 on a stormy night. Watson is considering retiring to bed when the door bell rings. A woman is at the door. She tells Watson that it is a matter of life and death. Watson goes to get his coat, but when he gets back to the door the woman has vanished.
