Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Broadcast: 5th May 1946
Added: May 06 2010

In this sparkling comedy Gertrude Lawrence plays the part of a well-known English actress. It is generally believed that the author had the famous Mrs. Pat Campbell in mind when he wrote this very amusing character. Mrs Pat Campbell is remembered both in London and New York for playing the part of Eliza Dolittle in Pygmalion and by happy coincidence Miss Lawrence is now (1946) paying the same part with enormous success on Broadway.
