Abner is in the Jot 'Em Down store telling Grand pappy Speirs that he thought Lum was just trying to get shut of him when he overheard Lum in a phone call letting the jewel thieves know that Abner was mixed up with but all the time he was just setting a trap to stop Wilson from making a getaway. Now the whole town thinks Lum is a hero and they're going to erect a statue in his honor.
