In the rough and tumble gold mining camp of Roaring Camp, a baby boy is born to Cherokee Sal, a woman on the fringes of society. Tragedy strikes when Sal dies in childbirth, leaving the miners devastated. But the unexpected arrival of the baby, nicknamed "Luck," brings a strange transformation to the camp. The hardened men take to caring for the infant, finding a newfound sense of purpose and even cleaning up the lawless town. However, their newfound luck seems to vanish when a flood hits, threatening the life of the child and the future of Roaring Camp.
