Luigi tells Pasquale that money isn't the most important thing and that friends are more important. To prove to Pasquale that friends are always there to help and that his friends would do anything for him he takes up a challenge by Pasquale that he will come home from night class with fifty dollars loaned from his friends. Then to prove that human kindness costs money Pasquale takes Luigi deep in to Chicago, takes all his money from him and leaves him there penniless to find his own way home!
