After 35 years it's Uncle Joe's last run on the railway before he retires. Young Slim is accompanying him on his last journey and he remembers the stories his father Bill Wiley had told him of the dramas he and Uncle Joe had encountered over the years.  Uncle Joe keeps calling him Bill and Slim thinks this is maybe because he reminds him of his father but we later discover it is because he is his grandson William Keifer Wiley better known as Slim.
