Johnny Dollar was on his promised vacation on the pacific coast, when he met the beautiful Bonny Lamar. Bonny’s father, wealthy Thomas Renee Lamar was due to join her but on Doctors orders he had to stay at home but informed his daughter that it was nothing serious. However later that day she receives a wire from the family doctor that her father has died. At the same time Johnny receives a wire from Pat MacKraken from Universal Adjustment Bureau. One of Tri Mutual’s bigger policyholders has just died with insurance of a million and half and the circumstances suggest it may be murder.
