Robert Bixby saw Thomas Gull with a literary fraudster and when he confronts him with this fact Gull strangles Bixby. As he breathes his last breath Robert Bixby seemingly manages to call Nick Carter but when Carter arrives at Bixby’s house he discovers that Bixby has a broken neck and would’ve died instantly. so who really called Nick Carter?
