Dodge McCallister headed a gang of outlaws known as the Alibi Boys. Operating out of Circle City, he and his henchmen had laughed at the law as they robbed and killed at will. Sheriff Matt Harvey knew that McCallister was a criminal, and had often arrested him, but the shyster had always gotten away with the crimes due to the alibis he had at hand who would testify for him in court. The next hold-up the men had planned, was against Cannonball McKay - the famous woman stage driver, on the first of the next month when she was carrying the most gold. She was lean and leathery, wore men's clothing, and her hair was tucked up into her battered Stetson. But even with her whip, sawed-off shotgun, and gun the men had planned to kidnap her until they could access the strong box built under the stage seat. They needed the help of the Lone Ranger, and Cannonball sent a message to the padre immediately...
